An epic science fiction and fantasy film from 2017. It is part of the Star Wars franchise now owned by Disney.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (also known as Episode VIII) is the second of a new "sequel trilogy" of films with a plot set cronologically 30 years after the events of the "original trilogy" of Star Wars movies from the late 70s and early 80s. This film is very controversial, dividing the audience, considered by many to be the worst Star Wars film, there is a sentiment that Luke's actions contradicted his previous heroic portrayal.
It is a direct sequel to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film from 2015.
The new film premiered in December 2017.
