The protagonist of the eighth Kamen Rider television series.

After suffering a body-altering surgery and barely escaping, Kotaro Minami becomes Kamen Rider Black to begin his battle against the forces of Golgom and save his adopted brother.

As his name suggests, Black is mostly black in color with yellow and red accents. Like No. 1 and No. 2, his design is based on a grasshopper.

He eventually got upgraded in the next series as BLACK RX
