uirou (food)

外郎 ういろう

A type of traditional Japanese sweet (wagashi) produced principally in Nagoya, Yamaguchi and Kyoto. They usually look like blocks and their color comes from the different flavors that are put in them.

It can be difficult to distinguish bricks of uirou from youkan. When in doubt, use youkan.
