shu (hokuto no ken)

Shu (シュウ) is the character from Hokuto no Ken.

He is the successor of the Nanto Hakurou Ken (南斗白鷺拳, "South Star White Heron Fist") style, which specializes in kicks. He represents the Star of Benevolence (仁星, Jinsei), as well as a friend of Rei. Shu was once Souther's second-in-command until he met a young Kenshiro, who was participating in a kumite against ten Nanto Seiken practitioners. Shu and challenged Ken as his final opponent and defeated Ken, but forfeited his eyesight (by slicing his own eyes) after his victory so that Kenshiro's life would be spared. After the Nuclear War, Shuu leads a resistance movement against Souther and his empire and is reunited with the now grown Kenshiro.

• Shuu's primary technique. A spinning kick.

• A spinning kick which beheads all surrounding enemies.
