Main antagonist of the Donkey Kong series, introduced in the original Donkey Kong Country. He is the leader of the Kremlings, a race of crocodilians that constantly antagonize Donkey Kong and the Kong Family.
His most distinctive physical trait is his single bloodshot eye. In his default King persona he dons a gold crown, a red cape with a brooch, and golden bracers. However he is known to adopt other personas such as Kaptain K. Rool where he wears a pirate look with a pirate hat carrying a blunderbuss, Baron K. Roolenstein where he adopts a mad scientist, frankenstein-like look with a lab coat, and King Krusha K. Rool where he takes on the look of a boxer with boxing gloves and a championship belt.
His name is a pun on "cruel". Colloquially it is commonly pronounced as "King Kay Rool" in English speaking countries as well as officially in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The television show usually pronounced his name as "King Kuh Rool". In Japanese it's pronounced as "King Cruel".
