Large pieces of ice that broke off glaciers and flow freely in the sea. Icebergs vary widely in size and shape, though are iconically portrayed as floating mountains of ice.
Due to the buoyancy properties of ice, only 10% of an entire iceberg is visible above water while the remaining 90% is hidden underwater.
