The final boss character from the Strider arcade machine released by Capcom in 1989.

Grand Master Meio is a humanoid alien who arrived on Earth and, using advanced and ancient technology and magic, conquered several countries in the East, bringing their military industry to build a powerful robotic army with which to dominate the rest of the world.

Despite what his overall physical appearance and powers may suggest, the main inspiration for the development of this character was not Emperor Palpatine from the Star Wars saga, but one of Sauron generals from The Lord of the Rings according to the developers of the first Strider arcade game.
