The Bren is a series of light machine guns made by Britain in the 1930s that would be widely used by British and Commonwealth forces during World War II. Its distinct features are the top-loading magazine, carry handle and telescoping bipod. The design was heavily based on the Czechoslovak ZB-26, hence the name "Bren" was derived from Brno, the manufacturer of the ZB-26, combined with Enfield, the manufacturer in the UK.

After World War II, many Bren guns were re-chambered for the 7.62×51mm NATO round in order to accept L1 magazines.

In anime, the Bren is commonly seen being used by Perrine H. Clostermann in Strike Witches, as well as Kazusa in Blue Archive.
