A fictional event from Star Wars. It is featured in the second film of the original trilogy from the 80s, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
The Battle of Hoth took place in ice planet Hoth between the elite snowtrooper legions of the Galactic Empire and the fleeing Rebel Alliance.
It ended in a tactical Imperial victory as Imperial forces were able to conquest the hidden Rebel base. However, it also is considered a strategic Rebel victory as the core of the Rebel Alliance forces were able to evacuate their base to fight another day.
