Her rigging consists of her real-life bridge and foremast to her back, two hull pieces containing her three real-life 15.2 twin gun mounts with a joystick control, an 8 cm twin anti-aircraft gun mount on her right rudder boot, and her flight deck on the left boot.
She speaks in a serious tone, with militaristic terminology. She has a line about enjoying Sasebo burgers (named after her hometown) as an uncharacteristic soft side to her. While she acts mature around her sisters, she tends to play an awed junior to (or romantic interest to) Yamato.
The historical Yahagi was sunk a couple months before the end of the war in the ill-fated Operation Ten-gou, a suicide mission which sank Yamato and virtually everyone else involved. Because of this, she almost always appears either with Yamato, her sister ships, or guarding destroyers.
