She has long white or grey hair in a two side up hairstyle, decorated with windsocks acting as hair tubes.
Her default outfit consists of a brown short sailor dress with a white sailor collar, grey neckerchief and lifebuoy clip, black mini hat styled after her real-life funnel, black choker, single white glove on her right hand, red thighhighs with garter straps, and red high heels. Her rigging consists of her own Rensouhou-kun on a bow hull piece to her right and quad 61 cm torpedo tubes to her back.
She is implied to be a tsundere. As the historical Amatsukaze was the testbed for Shimakaze's turbines, she is, in a way, Shimakaze's elder sister.
