Centers around Hirose Natsuko, an up-and-coming prodigy in the world of animation, who has recently been assigned her first role as director- “a romantic comedy centered around first love”. However, Natsuko finds herself unable to write the story, being a recluse who has no interest in romance or friendship.
One day, after succumbing to food poisoning, Natsuko wakes up in the world of the movie that made her fall in love with animation- a bleak tragedy centered around the end of the world. To avoid dying alongside them, Natsuko must work with the movie’s characters to change its bleak ending, growing closer to them in the process.
