MSZ-008 ZII

A further development of the Zeta Project, aimed at simplifying the design of the Zeta Gundam mobile suit and making it both easier to pilot and cheaper to produce. Using the know-how from the Methuss, the resulting machine - named ZII, read as "Ze-Two" - boasted considerable firepower thanks to the Mega Beam Cannon, which rivaled the Zeta Gundam's High Mega Launcher's output, and achieved its goals of reduced costs and ease of use.

However, it sacrificed its predecessor's atmospheric entry and flight capabilities, and was ultimately used sparsely until it was retired, while its combat data was taken into account during the development of the more successful ReZEL.
