year of the pig
The Pig is the last of 12 animals representing the Chinese zodiac. The following are years of the Pig: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031.
A Dog year always comes before the Year of the Pig, and a Rat year always comes afterwards in the next 12-year Chinese zodiac animal cycle.
In Japan, the wild boar is used instead of the (domesticated) pig.
