The spy of the Shinsengumi. Obsessed with anpan. Had a crush on Snack Otose's maid Tama. Over thirty years old, though he looks around Shimura Shinpachi's age. Based off of Yamazaki Susumu.

He's designed to be the most nondescript of the gang, and quickly forgotten about. Because of this, Sorachi makes a point of never including him on a manga volume cover.
