Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei province in central China. It is the 9th largest city in China by population and is considered the political, economic, financial, commercial, cultural, and educational center of Central China.

In December 2019 it was the site of the first discovered cases of SARS-CoV-2 which would cause a global pandemic.
