International Women's Day, also known as Festa della Donna or Mimosa Day, is celebrated on the 8th of March every year, highlighting feminist movements and achievements as well as bringing attention to issues that affect women. Yellow mimosa are used to represent the holiday, chosen by Italian politician Teresa Mattei in 1946.
