whirl (transformers)

A character from the Transformers science fiction franchise.

Whirl is an heroic Autobot, a sentient alien robot that can transform into a futuristic looking blue combat helicopter.

His original toy is based on a variable mecha called VH-64 MR Oberon Gazzette from the Tokusou Kihei Dorvack science fiction anime series from the 1980s.

He was among those Transformers toys that did not appear in the first animated series because the show was going to appear in Japan, where the toy was owned by Takara's rivals.

While his holographic avatar in the IDW comics was female, the first female version of the character appeared in Rescue Bots Academy.
