A transformable mecha from the Macross universe.

In the Macross Zero OVA series, the VF-0D is a 2 pilot variant of the VF-0 Phoenix variable fighter equipped with delta wings, canards, a single head-mounted laser, a gunpod and several missiles.

This mecha is used for training purposes mostly, but is also combat capable.

It is the mecha of choice for U.N. Spacy combat pilot Kudou Shin and his RIO Edgar Lasalle.

In real life it was designed by Kawamori Shouji.
