velma (2023)

Velma is a 2023 adult animated series created by Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy based on the Scooby-Doo franchise. It was notable for being the first Scooby Doo animated series to not feature the character Scooby-Doo, and having three of four main human cast get a race lift based on their new voice actors (Velma being Indian, Daphne Chinese and Shaggy Black).

However, since it began airing in 2023, it's received mixed to negative views, in response to the changes to many of the casts' personalities, the mean spirited and negative jokes on the Scooby-Doo franchise, turning Velma unlikable and selfish, and the overuse of meta humor.

After a second season and a Halloween special, the show was cancelled in 2024.
