transformer
A device for changing the voltage of electricity.
This tag is most commonly used to tag distribution transformers, the large cylinders seen on a power and utility pole to step-down high voltage used in transmission over long distances to the voltage used by the end customer. It can also be used to tag pad-mount transformers on the ground or other kinds of transformers (e.g. in a detailed image of a circuit board or other electronics).
