tower of babel

A structure referenced in the Old Testament of the Bible.
Humanity's first attempt to reach God, by building a tower in an attempt to reach the heavens themselves. Didn't work out as intended, just pissed off God enough that he knocked down the tower and made everyone speak different languages so as to not understand each other.
