The official soccer ball being used in the 2018 FIFA World Cup being held in Russia. Its design pays homage to the original Telstar soccer ball which has become the representative soccer ball. Telstar 18's design differs from the Telstar in the design of its "black" panels that look like pixellated gray oval trajectories. Also, unlike the Telstar and like the more recent soccer ball designs material-wise, the Telstar 18's panels are glued together rather than stitched.

Since the round of 16, Telstar Mechta (Мечта, meaning "dream" or "ambition"), a version of Telstar 18 with red features, made its appearance.
