tashkent (kancolle)

タシュケント(艦隊これくしょん) タシュケント(艦これ) タシュケント Ташкент Ташкент(艦これ)

A character from Kantai Collection, introduced in the 2018 Winter Event. Based on the Soviet destroyer leader Tashkent.

Appearance

She has wide brown eyes, long brown hair tied off into low twintails with black hair bows, wears a black papakha with three stars on it, a tattered white scarf and a ribbon-trimmed blue shawl over a white jacket and an anchor necklace. She also wears black fingerless gloves, a black skirt, a couple of black belts, an untucked red shirt, brown pantyhose, and black thigh boots.

Her rigging includes a pair of turrets and a pair of triple-tube torpedo launchers.

In her appearance in the 2019 calendar (Danbooru post #3431552), she is portrayed as significantly taller than Hibiki.

Personality

In-game, she has a generically friendly and reliable personality. She consistently refers to the admiral and other shipgirls as "Comrades", conforming to the communist model. In fan-art, the fact that she was built in Italy is rarely shown unless this is directly refered to, often making her the zealous, "more communist than thou" character compared to newcomer Hibiki/Verniy and imperial-era old guard Gangut. On the opposite end, you can have the sweetest Tashkent around.

History

The Tashkent class of ships consisted of a single destroyer leader, built in Italy for the Soviet navy just before World War II. Three other ships were ordered but canceled before construction. The class is named after Tashkent, the capital city of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (now Uzbekistan).

Trivia

The real life destroyer Tashkent had a top speed of 43 knots, technically making her faster than Shimakaze but slower than the French destroyer Le Terrible. With that in mind, she is currently the fastest destroyer implemented in game.
