tanuki (kemono friends)

A Kemono Friends character. She is one of many "Friends" in Japari Park.

The Tanuki or "Raccoon Dog" (Nyctereutes procyonoides) is, as its name suggests, a canid that ressembles a raccoon. It is native to East Asia and is well-documented in Japan, spawning numerous legends about it. It is considered to be a basal canid, distantly related to the true foxes.

Tanuki (the Friend) wears what is essentially a dark blue serafuku with fur-trimmed sleeves and a fur collar over the sailor collar. She has short, dark brown and white flipped hair that ressembles the "mask" of the original animal as well as brown eyes. Of course, she has the appropriate ears and tail.
