Series: Shinryaku! Ika Musume

A mysterious character who's appeared only once (twice in the anime). When Ika Musume was down in the dumps about the course of the "invasion", Kozue encouraged her to see value in her experiences regardless -- and cryptically told her she wasn't alone.

The initials of Tanabe Kozue spell "octopus" in Japanese, and she wears a hat that looks suspiciously like an octopus's head, just like Ika's hat resembles a squid's. Fans have therefore dubbed her Tako-Musume (Octopus Girl).
