tabara seiki
Retired real life Japanese horse jockey. Famous for achieving multiple victories with Mayano Top Gun, as well as Happy Progress and Flower Park. He has also ridden Tokai Teio to victory once in the Arima Kinen.
After retirement he became a racehorse trainer, though sadly his license was revoked after getting into trouble for accidentally bringing a fruit knife in his check-in luggage at an airport (which also landed him in further trouble when searching revealed he had some recreational drugs).
Tabara is also a professional manga author starting back from his jockeying days. His latest work, Hou no Niwa (The Courtyard of Law) has also been adapted into a television drama. Additionally, Mr. Tabara is a semi-prolific magazine columnist and musician.
