string play spider baby (meme)

ストリングプレイスパイダーベイビー

A futaba channel visual meme involving a yo-yo trick.

"Spider baby" is a string trick. String play, also known as string trick(s) is a type of yo-yo trick, usually performed with the yo-yo sleeping at the end of the string.

This meme is related to Moero! Spinner, a yo-yo manga written by Hashiguchi Takashi in 1997. In this manga, Master Nakamura/Nakamura-Meijin, modeled after real yo-yo champion Nakamura Ken'ichi, showed this yoyo trick. People laughed at his proud face and made numerous headshop parody pictures.

Later Takashi wrote Chousoku Spinner, the revised version of Moero! Spinner, and the manga made a big hit.
