A series of light novels in the World Witches Series franchise by Yamaguchi Noburo. Published in 3 volumes from 2006 to 2008, and received a reboot in 2018. It was the very first instalment in the franchise, back when it was known as Strike Witches

It stars the Suomus Independent Volunteer Aerial Squadron (later renamed the 507th Joint Fighter Wing). In theory an elite international squad, most of its members were in fact sent there for bad behaviour, and as result it came to be known as the "Suomus Misfits Squad".
