Stepan is a male Ukrainian character belonging to the 67th Mechanized Brigade, a Right Sector-derivative unit.
He is often depicted with a jacket, baggy pants, boots, gloves, and a blue beanie. His weapon of choice is an AK-47.
Created by Biswapriya Purkayastha in 2022 to mock Ukrainian ultranationalists in the comic Tales of Ukranazistan after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine began, his original full name was "Ukranazi Stepan". Marichka's newfound notoriety on /pol/ inspired Number-Seventeen to draw Stepan as an aesthetically-appealing character to ship with her in a series of comics, with his rather-unbelievable backstory utterly unchanged. LapisLumos' and Linyvets chan's contributions gave Stepan short blonde hair and greater depth, fully diverging the character from the original.
