A submachine gun of Spanish origin. Developed in 1962, manufactured by STAR Bonifacio Echeverria SA. It was adopted by Spanish military, police and Guarda Civil in 9×23mm Largo. For export it was offered in 9×19mm Parabellum. The Star Model Z62 is a blowback operated firearm which fires from an open bolt.
