splash page

A comic page that consists of a full-page illustration. It is generally not self-contained and often without panels unlike 1koma, and, as a whole comic page, it is not internally segmented. While splash pages are traditionally meant for emphasis (alongside two-page spreads), many webcomics and online one-shots consist solely of splash pages.
