A Marvel comics character, first debuted in the Spider-Verse comic book storyline in 2014. Her real name is Gwendolyne Maxine "Gwen" Stacy, a variant of Gwen Stacy from Earth-65 continuity in which Gwen was bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. Her codename was Spider-Woman, later changed to Ghost-Spider.
Spider-Gwen has appeared in media other than comic books since her debut, including animated shows, animated films and video games. Her popularity led to the creation of another character based on Gwen Stacy, Gwenpool.
