Takes place in 1960s rural Japan instead of the titular American town that is the setting in the vast majority of the rest of the series.

The scenario writing is handled by Ryukishi07, the head of the 07th expansion circle that created Higurashi no Naku Koro ni & Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
