She is revealed to be the series' secondary antagonist, working with Alexis Kerib by designing kaiju sculptures that Alexis brings to life. Akane is shown to be sociopathic as she easily holds petty grudges against others, even for simple accidents.

In episode 6, it is revealed that Akane is the creator of the city and uses the kaiju to shape it to her liking by killing off anyone she doesn't like and resetting it afterwards.

In the finale episode, it is revealed that Akane is actually a person from real life world who was abducted by Alexis so he could feed on her negative energy.
