shin sakura taisen
A reboot of the Sakura Taisen franchise, known simply as Project Sakura Wars during development, and released for PlayStation 4 on December 12, 2019. The game is set 12 years after Sakura Taisen V, and features an entirely new main cast, as well as real time action gameplay instead of the series' usual turn-based strategy gameplay. An anime series set shortly after the game's events began airing on April 3, 2020.
The game was released overseas on April 28, 2020. Due to the fact that the majority of the franchise had never been released outside of Japan, it was renamed to simply Sakura Wars in foreign markets.
Kubo Tite is the official character designer for the main cast, with guest artists providing designs for supporting characters.
