roots (hair)
A type of multicolored hair where the hair at the top of the head (the roots) is a different color from the rest. This is typically visible where the hair parts on the head.
This is traditionally a result of neglecting one's dyed hair, letting the natural hair color grow back in. Nowadays it may also be an intentional hairstyle, with people deliberately dying their hair this way. Most often, roots are seen with blonde hair and appear as dark, natural colors like brown or black.
Notable characters with this style of hair include Miyamori Aoi, Memcho, Sawatari Akane, and Kozume Kenma.
