One of the three main protagonists of Wild Arms 1. He is playable in both games. He also makes a cameo in Wild Arms 5. His name in the west is Rudy, while in Japan, it is Rody. There are numerous ways to spell his name, so while none are incorrect, 'Rody Roughnight' will be used for Danbooru.

Rody starts off as an orphaned boy when he loses his grandfather Zepet. When he reveals his ability to use ARMs (Advanced Relic Machines) to save a child from a monster, Rody is exiled out of fear and he lives as an isolated Drifter. When Emma Hetfield recruits him, Jack Van Burace and Cecilia Lynne Adelhyde for a mission, his life changes as he is finally accepted for who he is. Unknown to him, he is involved in a love triangle between Cecilia and Calamity Jane Maxwell as they compete for his affections.
