Organic androids that first appeared in the cyberpunk science fiction movie Blade Runner.
The Replicants are genetically engineered artificial human clones used for slave labor in the off-world colonies. They can be designed with different levels of intelligence and strength (according to their use), from standard human or subhuman levels to superhuman and genius type.
They have short life-spans and are banned on Earth.
