Renée Bernadette Émilie Lemaire (1914-1944) was a real life Belgian nurse from World War II who along with Congolese nurse Augusta Chiwy, took care of many wounded United States soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge. She appears in the Band of Brothers HBO miniseries.
For their actions Lemaire and Chiwy are often called "The Angels of Bastogne".
Renée was killed during a German Luftwaffe air raid on Christmas Eve in 1944 during the Siege of Bastogne.
