reference photo
A photo that has been used as a reference by an artist when creating an art piece. The result of using such references can range from detailed recreations of the photographs to simple copied poses, expressions, or situations.
This tag is for the photos themselves, not for images based on reference photos. Use when the post is wholly the reference material. If the reference photo is displayed alongside the referencing photo, use reference inset and photo inset instead.
Not to be confused with photos used in photo backgrounds, which are not used as referenced to create the actual art piece.
