queadluun-rau

クァドラン・ロー

Zentradi one-man tactical aerospace alien power armor that first appeared in Choujikuu Yousai Macross science fiction anime TV series from 1982.

The Quimeliquola Queadluun-Rau, also known as the Q-Rau, is one of the most advanced and dangerous Zentradi mecha. It is very fast, heavy armored and highly maneuverable thanks to its inertia vector control system, several vernier thrusters and advanced thermonuclear reactor.

This power armor is armed with two mid-range energy cannons on its torso, two triple-barreled rapid fire energy arm cannons on its forearms, two micro-missile launchers on its back and two on its legs with dozens of missiles each. Because of its characteristics and weaponry, this mecha is used mostly in enemy fighter interception and long range aggressive-reconaissance roles, rather than anti-capital ship combat.

The Q-Rau is the mecha of choice for Zentradi starfighter aces such as Millia Jenius.

In the original 1982 Macross TV series the mecha was used by the female fleets of the Zentradi armada, while in the 1984 film adaptation of the series, Macross: Do You Remember Love? the Q-Rau was used by the Meltrandi fleet (enemies of the Zentradi fleet) only.

In real life the Queadluun-Rau was designed by Miyatake Kazutaka in the early 80s.
