pluto (tetsuwan atom)

An antagonist giant robot mecha character from Tetsuwan Atom/Astroboy created by Tezuka Osamu in the 1950s.

It appears in the original classic manga series, specifically "The Greatest Robot on Earth" (地上最大のロボット, Chijō Saidai no Robotto) story arc and is the arc's chief villain.

Also appears in redesigned form in the more recent PLUTO manga series (written and illustrated by Urasawa Naoki) that was inspired by that story arc.
