plain epaulettes
Strips of cloth on a shirt or jacket shoulders, without any fringe trim like epaulettes or rank indicators like military shoulder boards. Usually only attached to clothing at the ends. Can also be called shoulder tabs.
If in a military or police context, then it's most likely shoulder boards instead.
