pk machine gun

The PK machine gun is a Soviet general purpose machine gun, introduced in 1961.

This tag is for the original, earlier production of the PK machine gun, before it was modernized with the PKM in 1969. It can be distinguished from the PKM by its long flash hider, half-fluted barrel (fluted up to the gas block), and smooth top cover.

Both the PK and PKM were superseded by the PKP Pecheneg in 2001.
