penlight (glowstick)

A hand-held light source used in concerts similar to a glowstick. Though unlike a glowstick, penlights are battery-powered as opposed to being chemically-activated. As such, penlights often have a longer handle area where the battery is stored.

Associated with idol culture, both in j-pop and k-pop.
