originium (arknights)
A black crystalline mineral that manifested as a result of the Catastrophes that ravaged the world of Arknights. It is useful as a power source, among other things, but overexposure causes "oripathy", which is the source of the oripathy lesions seen on some characters, and may be fatal if exposed for a long period of time. Commonly depicted as black crystals.
In game, a special form of originium called originite prime is used as the premium currency for buying skins and pulling characters from the gacha system.
It is based on the tiberium, a (usually) green crystal from Command & Conquer series, of which the originium shared several characteristic with.
