onyankopon (racehorse)

Given etmyology is Akan (Twi): "Supreme being, God". The name of an aspect of the Akan religion's supreme deity, Nyame.

Japanese racehorse. Sired by Eishin Flash and foaled by Chariot d'Or, he is infamous for his name that, despite the given etmyology, it has a cutesy, cat-like ring to it. Then again, it was given to him with the acknowledgement of that disparity and the effect it would have.

He is a bay horse with a stripe facial marking and a stocking on his right hind leg.

Aside for the name, he is still one of Eishin Flash's most succesful progeny (not that it means much, he has a single GIII victory), only Vela Azul (2022 Japan Cup) beats him in that respect.
