Before Sprigatito's evolutionary line was revealed, the Pokemon fandom had a lot of time to speculate on whether it would stay on all fours after it evolved, or whether (like previous cat starter Litten) its final evolution would be bipedal. Many fans strongly opposed the idea of Sprigatito following in Litten's footsteps, leading to this rallying cry and meme.
Despite this, once Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was released, it is revealed that Sprigatito's evolutions do stand up. Though they have become a hot topic afterwards for a different reason.
