A series of 2.5D platformers in the Mario series. It mimics the gaming style of the original Super Mario Bros. 1, being a tradional sidescroller with a simple plot and common powerups, but even challenge.

One point of interest is the first game's minigame section, most of them collected from the minigames found in Super Mario 64 DS.

The series' graphics would be one of the 5 visual styles represented in the Super Mario Maker series, the others being Super Mario Bros. 1, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and Super Mario 3D World.
